Are you a newbie cruise person? Well I was until December 2012 when I took my first cruise. I have journal my experience from my Miami cruise trip. Miami City is the leading cruise port in the world and I see why. It is a beautiful place to start your cruise and going out to sea on a cruise is so exciting. My family and I took a 7 days Western Caribbean Cruise on the Carnival Glory. The foreign ports we went to were, Cozumel, Belize, Roatan, and Grand Cayman.

If you are looking for deals around Florida, you need to check out the Visit Florida website which is the State’s main visitor website. This page has some local deals that you might be looking for. If you book something from now till December 20th, you will save the most amount of money. Remember the winter season is where the prices goes up, so look hard for the deals in the winter.

Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort Golf Club & Spa

Marco Island beachfront resort sits on the Gulf of Mexico has plenty of white sandy beaches and with the beautiful water of the Gulf of Mexico at its door. This 11-story white-sand beachfront resort sits on the southwest tip of the island within 20 miles of Naples and 40 miles from the Everglades and 2 hours from Ft Lauderdale on the east coast. This resort is known for it’s Golf, spa, and pools. The Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort is home to an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts, 3 pools, fitness center, and spa with supervised child care.
Every room has a balcony views. This resort is located in two towers, the 727 guestrooms at this Marriott resort offer minibars, refrigerators, pillowtop mattresses, and furnished, step-out balconies with views of the Gulf or Marco Island.

My wife and I spent the weekend here with our Church on a couples retreat and what a retreat it was. Beside the great teaching from our Pastors, the resort had so many amenities to relax with. We really enjoy the gulf water to go swimming in and we stayed in the warm water for hours. In fact while we were in the water a wild dolphin was swimming around the beach. This was a real bonus.

The room was really nice and the restaurants and food was delicious!! I would recommend this resort if you need to get refueled.

Lion Country Safari West Palm Beach Review

Lion Country Safari is a real West Palm Beach Landmark attraction. The name implies Lions but also mentions about a safari which it is. You get Florida’s only drive-through safari and walk-through amusement park which invites you to spend the day on safari with over 900 animals. With animal displays and encounters, animal feeding experiences, 6 rides, water sprayground, food, shopping and more.

It has been years since I was at Lion Country Safari but this time I took my wife to see the park and the safari. She wrote a review of our day at Lion Country Safari. Read her review here, Lion Country Safari West Palm Beach Attraction.

The rooms and suites are some of the best in Key West and the Florida Keys. Arrayed along a 1,100-foot private beach, the resort is 1.5 miles from the shopping, dining, and nightclubs of Duval Street.

Mrs Macs Kitchen Review Key Largo

Key Largo has many choices to eat and drink but one of my favorite places to go is Mrs Macs Kitchen in Key Largo. You may get fooled by looking at the building on the outside but you will know the food is really good and tasty because of the crowds for lunch and dinner. Its worth the wait because the menue selection is really big and varied from delicious sandwiches, fresh fish, and angus steaks. Plus the service is really friendly too.

Top Five Items for the Florida Beaches

After coming from the beach today, I thought it might be good to write a must have list for the beach. Even though it might sound simple, a lot of people did not have them on the beach and I was glad my family and I did. It made our day at the Florida Beach so much better and comfortable.

Big comfortable beach towel, you definitely need to start with this. Without the beach towel, you have nothing but sand all over you. The bigger the the better. Try not to get too thin of towel because it is so much more comfortable with a thicker towel.
Sunscreen, the Florida sun will really get you bad in the summer. Even on day like today, where the breeze was beautiful and i thought it was not too hot, my feet got sun burned. Good thing there are so many brands that protect and keep you from burns in the evening. A must today!!
Beach Umbrella, this is a convenience but I love having one. Today the umbrella are much more stable and well designed. They have special post that you can dig into the sand so the umbrella does not blow away. Also, the umbrellas today have openings in the middle to let the breeze blow through. It really takes the heat away and gives your body a break from the sun.
Comfortable beach chair, a good chair make the day so much more enjoyable. Its always nice to be able sit and watch the world go by you, the waves, the sand, and the people. The beach chairs they have today are very light to carry and very durable.
An Ice Cooler, you need to find out if your beach you are going to allows a cooler but I always find a beach that does. With out a cooler, the day is long and thirty. You always need a break with a cold water or other beverages and snacks. There are all different sizes but I always like a small one so I don’t have too much weight to carry around.

Allure of the Sea Leaves Fort Lauderdale

Royal Caribbean Allure of the Sea is a beautiful and grand cruise that leaves Fort Lauderdale’s port most Sunday afternoons. While sitting on the beach, I caught some photos of this cruise ship leaving the port. I knew this was one of Royal Caribbeans updated and special ships and have Dream Work characters on board which makes it really special for families.

When I got back home, I did some research on the ship and to find out what made this ship so special. From what I found out online, its the revolutionary design of Allure of the Seas that will excite any cruise passenger. The ship has the following:

One to two-story ocean views contemporary Loft Suites
Full-sized carousel on a Boardwalk neighborhood
You can spend some quiet time in the adults-only Solarium
The kids’ imaginations can run wild in our Youth Zone – the largest dedicated youth area at sea.
Jump right into the Pool Zone, where you’ll find the H2O Zone, cantilevered whirlpools, FlowRiders and a thrilling zip-line view of the ship and sea below.
When it’s time to unwind, you can go for a stroll in Central Park – a meandering garden and lush public space lined with foliage and fine restaurants
You can take in the majestic view from any of the multiple balconies overlooking the AquaTheater, the first amphitheater at sea.
The ship has 28 ultra-modern loft suites and 2,700 spacious staterooms,
This ship is 16-decks and can prove that the impossible, is possible.

Wow, this ship sounds like it has it all. I have never cruised, so I am counting on some of our readers to give me some feed back of their experiences on Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Sea.

Blowing Rocks Preserve Jupiter Island

A person emailed me about Blowing Rocks Preserve on Jupiter Island Florida and it has been a long time since I have been there. Its a great place to watch nature at work, with blowing and slashing water.

The preserve was named for its rocky Anastasia limestone shoreline – the largest on the U.S. Atlantic coast. During extreme high tides and after winter and summer storms, seas break against the rocks and force plumes of saltwater up to 50 feet skyward. It’s an impressive sight.

Its not a great place to go swimming because the rocks can be quit dangerous, so keep that in mind. Any feed back from any of you out there?
