St. Augustine, Florida’s Oldest City

Historically, St. Augustine was established in 1565 by Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles, and is the oldest permanent European settlement in the continental United States. For 235 years it was the political, military, and religious capital of the Province of Florida from which Spain exercised jurisdiction over a vast geographical region. We all think that the oldest settlements are from the 1700’s but no, Florida has St. Augustine, which have to visit if you come to Northern Florida.

I especially love all that you can do in the area, some of the best B&Bs, restaurants, and attractions in the state. Check out my experience in St Augustine and what I thought of the area.<Click Here to Read More>
